Built in 1952, consisted of 5 swimming pools of different functions
and a spectator stand for over 7000 attendants, Yuexiu Natatorium
is renowned nationwide because it is not only the place where
many significant national and international contests are once
held, but also a cradle for Chinese water sports athletes, such
as the famous diving athlete Chen Xiaoxia. And, Guo Moruo once
visited this Natatorium and left the verse meaning ¡°master the
dragon¡¯s sea-conquering swimming skills to be invincible in
all competitions¡± to inspire the swimming athletes. |
