Yue
Xu is the highest mountain in Guangzhou. It is the place where
the military personnel once used it for their purposes. Square
cannon site is located at Fan Long Hill of Yuexu Mountain. In
1841, it was the military headquarter of the British army when
they invaded Guangzhou. During that time, the desperate British
army, asked the local leader, Yu Bao Chun, for assistance to
disperse its people when it found itself surrounded by them,
Yu Bao Chun, then persuaded its people to disperse allowing
the British army to leave safely. |
