These
kiosks are located in Fan Long Hill of Yuesu Mountain. Hai Yuan
kiosk is octagonal in shape. Historical record has it, that
it was raised in the memory of Hong Kong sea-men who held strike
in order to protest against lower wages, and demanded improvement
of their living standard. This internationally known struggle
was successful. It was then seen as a remarkable victory for
the Chinese working class fighting against the imperialist oppression.
It marked the beginning of the Chinese workers movement in the
Chinese history.
